Field Training OfficerThe Field Training and Evaluation Program (FTO) is a nationally recognized system used to teach, train, and evaluate new officers so that each is prepared to function as a solo officer at the conclusion of their training cycle. The FTO moniker is a standard used for Field, Corrections and sometimes Communications (CTO) personnel. The training cycle consists of intensive on-the-job training and daily performance evaluations by their Field Training Officer (FTO).
