Brad Rougeau
Detective Rougeau has been with the Ann Arbor Police Department since 2006 where has worked in the patrol division and as a dedicated downtown beat officer which included bicycle patrol in a downtown environment. Then Officer Rougeau was assigned to the Crime Response Unit, which was responsible for directed patrol operations, problem-oriented policing, surveillance and fugitive investigations and apprehension.
Between 2013-2016 Detective Rougeau was assigned to the multijurisdictional narcotics enforcement team in Livingston and Washtenaw Counties (LAWNET) where he was primarily tasked with undercover narcotics investigations, cultivating, and managing informants and networking with other state, local and federal law enforcement agencies. During his time with LAWNET, Detective Rougeau became a certified clandestine lab investigator. |
From 2016 to current Detective Rougeau has been assigned to the detective bureau where his primary specialty is investigating complex fraud and financial crimes. Through many investigations that have led to organized crime as many of the “schemes” have become the crime of choice for street gangs throughout the country. Many of these investigations span multiple states and often countries and require patience and excellent written communication and networking abilities to successfully investigate and gain convictions.
Detective Rougeau is very active in various aspects of both in-service police training and as an instructor in multiple basic police academies. Detective Rougeau instructs warrantless searches, search warrant procedures, mechanics of arrest, traffic stops and CSC investigation. Detective Rougeau is also a pistol and patrol rifle instructor as well as a police cycling instructor.
Detective Rougeau earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice in 2002 and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with a specialization in Criminal Justice from Oakland University in 2005.
