Dan A. DeWolf

Mr. DeWolf was employed at the Bloomfield Township Police Department, Michigan from 1974 - 2005. During those years he was a Training Officer, assigned to the Narcotics Unit and promoted to Detective within the Investigations Division. In 1987, he was again promoted to Sergeant and in 1991 to Lieutenant in the Patrol Division. As a Shift Commander, his duties included to serve as the Unit Coordinator for the Field Training Unit and the Communications Center since 1987. Mr. DeWolf was an instructor with Northwestern University Center for Public Safety and Oakland Community College. He has taught at the Oakland Police Academy as an instructor in the Advanced Police Officer Training Seminars, Disciplinary Investigations, Leadership, Supervision of Police Personnel, Supervision of the FTO Program, and the Field Training and Evaluation Program. He has instructed at Lansing Community College and has been employed as a Training Consultant with many Police and Sheriff Departments throughout Michigan.
Prior to his law enforcement career, Mr. DeWolf earned a Bachelors of Science Degree from Michigan State University in 1974. He earned his Master’s Degree at Eastern Michigan University in 2001. His professional affiliations include the Oakland Criminal Justice Association where he is a Past President, Alpha Phi Sigma; Professional Fraternity at Michigan State University, Alumni of Eastern Michigan University School of Police Staff and Command, A.P.C.O., I.L.E.E.T.A and is a Past Director of the Michigan Chapter to the National Association of Field Training Officers. |
